Special Brushes
At
Widdop De Courcy we can manufacture many different types of brushes
for numerous applications, these extend from hand filled brush pads
for the automotive industry and oval Vacuum cleaner brushes to Gear
leaver seals and product removal on mould tools in the manufacture
of condoms.
Our manufacture of the special brushes is based around our brush
strip being shaped to ‘form’ the size and profile required
for the given application.
To undertake this we use the full range of sections from the 2.5mm
wide brush section through to the 11mm wide section, in either galvanised
backing strip or Stainless steel backing strip.
Utilising various tooling that we presently have and modifying to
suit, or having the design studio design special tooling, we are
able to undertake quite a varied range of brush forms, mainly used
by low volume applications, where high costs of tooling for alternative
processes is prohibitive. We are able to fill brushes with a vast
option of filament depending on the application.
At the point where brush strip becomes unsuitable, we can then
offer either hand filled units or mechanically punched in items,
costs can be lower, but tooling costs have to be considered, as
well as quantity, as punching filament into units is a high volume
application. The hand drawn facility can be used when the quantity
is extremely low, and that the density of the brush may be limited.
We still also retain the facilities to manufacture hackles for
the false hair and stage industries using original materials. Although
these are now vary rarely ordered, we still have the tooling, as
well as tooling for many other seldom used brushes, of which we
sometimes modify to be able to manufacturer that special brush your
looking for.
